This is one I did 4 years ago but it still seems to be a favorite. This shows George Beurling, Canada's top ace shooting down an FW190 in his Spitfire IX. I really enjoyed reading about George, he had some great fighter pilot stories and I had a lot of fun working on this piece.

In this scene he had spotted the 190 in his mirror, swung out of formation, shot down the 190 and returned to formation without any of his flight noticing. On landing he mentioned it to everyone's disbelief, but he had gun camera footage to prove it.

George was an excellent shot with most of his victories made with quick 1 or 2 second bursts.
